The summer of 2019 was a great opportunity for several students to have a practical experience and incentive on getting higher education. Sponsored and managed by CEaS CREST, were received a total of 7 students, 4 from High School and 3 from East Los Angeles College (ELAC). They worked with Cal State LA professors and students from Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering and Chemical departments in 3 different projects. The program had 2 months of duration, and the students used Cal State LA facilities to realize research, learn and feel included in a university environment.
The picture above show some of the students working at the Moon Project under the advisiment of Mechanical Engineering professor and center director Dr. Arturo Pacheco-Vega.
The summer program is sponsored by NSF CREST - Center for Energy & Sustainability and occurs anually.
